Dr. Shahid Masood Made PTV Chairman !!!
I’m flabbergasted to know, and unable to believe that Dr. Shahid Masood has been named as the Chairman of PTV. The surprise is not at his appointment, but at his acceptance of the offer. A person who cannot digest daily meals without criticizing Pervez Musharraf, Asif Zardari and lately Rehman Malik, has taken up the post in a corporation which is not only directly answerable to the government but has a propensity to support the government (under all conditions).
The news was shown by ARY OneWorld and has appeared in the papers today.
ISLAMABAD — Dr Shahid Masud, a renowned TV anchor, has been named Chairman of the state-run Pakistan Television (PTV) Corporation.
Shahid Masud, a physician by profession, emerged as a leading political commentator shortly after the 9/11 attacks in the United States and has worked in different capacities with the private ARY and Geo TV channels.
In an another development, Ghulam Murtaza Solangi, currently working as a commentator with Voice of America, has been appointed Director-General of Radio Pakistan.
Solangi is an experienced radio hand and has rich experience in the field of broadcasting.
Solangi enjoys wide respect and recognition among his colleagues for his professional competence, independence and integrity.
Despite having seen the news at five different places my incertitude remains high, unless the man himself confirms it.
I think it goes on to show Dr. Shahid Masood’s real character. I also found it difficult to believe but read about it in newspapers and also saw the brief report on ARY. Pakistani journalists are good blackmailers and I think that is what this episode has also proved. I never thought that he would jump on to the PPP bandwagon after his programme about Rehman Malik. However, his subsequent action goes on to show that he used it to scare the PPP government and probably got a better offer after the programme!!!!! He and Rehman Malik will now be in the same government- isnt it unbelievable.
The “Dubai Doctor ” has proved to be a dubious and dodgy character- or may be he was like that always and we people did not know him well. Musharraf could have done the same instead of launching commando action on Geo network and banning these anchor person and making them go off-air. By making him Chairman PTV, the present government has succeeded in getting him off-air!
“The government has succeeded in getting him off-air.” That is pretty well said Ammar. PTV is bound to support the government, and now Dr. Shahid will be supporting a government headed by a dummy PM with NRO-ed Zardari and the “illegitimate” President (which he calls).

I feel sorry to hear that Sahahid Masood is taking a government job as Chairman of PTV. He was working wonderfully on independent TVs and exposing the corrupt generals and politicians and well liked by the patriots of Pakistan. After Gulzar Kiyani’s interview, it is clear who put the country into danger by taking unwanted adventures, Kargil War, and produced NRO to pardon the corrupt politicians.
I hope he will change his mind and not join PTV.

Now it is confirmed that Zardi’s government in collaboration with Musharraf’s remains tried to give a bad reputation to a genuine journalist. How is it possible to give a government office to a person who has such clear views about the corrupt and bad practices of Zardari and most of Pakistani politicians. The NEWS of chairmanship of PTV to Dr Shahid Masood is incorrect.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that he has been bought off !! , may be it is a way for PTV to prove that they aren’t too biased about the true situation in Pakistan . I am thinking on a rather positive note having someone like Dr.shahid masood will make PTV a better pace atleast people will watch it unlike geo which is the king of exaggeration ! . I am not pro mush or pro zardari I just think we should wait and watch and not over analyze things before hand . PTV has a bad repute but that doesn’t mean we don’t give it a chance to improve !:)
maray mutabiq, he is given this job by PPP so he should keep his running mouth shut and stay away from camera so there would be no ass busting of PPP on TV. atleast on GEO. and who cares about PTV, no one watches this channel anymore.

They are forgotten with time. but “doers” live in history, doesn’t matter if they were from PML or PPP or some other XYZ party. Nawaz sharif is part of history for his actions, even after 30years, people still talk about Bhutto, Yahiya khan, Zia and now Musharif will be remembered.
But try to recall, who was playing dr. shahid’s role in Bhutto era? Zia era? Sharif’s period? or BB’s period? No doubt, it’s hard to recall critics of those periods. People tend to forget them. They are like a thriller movie, lot of assumptions, suspense, stories, lies and sensationalism but at the end, there is “The End”
mery mutabiq is one guy seriously messed up in the head to begin with. First he started talking about doomsday, then took the easy route of criticizing the government. What a relief to see him off the air ways! The doctor needs a serious evaluation of himself and others in the rear to see what the hell is stuck up there
We are all have to be optimistic about Dr Shahid Masood. I know we all are feeling very bad when he joined PTV as Chairman PTV but we have to take it just positive and give him some time to prove the sincerity.
I had great respect for Dr. Shahid…but what a way to cash yourself…Gappoo (Dr. Shahid) is a true example…looser
I know this guy(shahid masood) personnelly.He was always an oppurtunist.
In first pp govt he cashed him self as directer Karachi water board.
Stories about him being a successfull surgeon are absolute lies.He tried about 10 times to pass his FRCS but never succeeded.

Its a pity and shame that Shahid masood became Chairman of PTV. He has sold his soul for this mere trivial position. Its speaks volumes on the character of this nation. As a nation we have delayed morally and ethically. There is no hope now.

Dr. Shahid Masood and other people (like shahid masood you can see them on geo and ARY like…. u got it) are very smart blackmailers and often these people got rewards onbehalf of their acts…..but what happened with Dr. Shahid Masood is …every thing came infornt of nation…otherwise others are getting rewards under the table (so we cant see)….BUT MAIN POINT IS …..WHEN OUR NATION WILL AWAKE>>>> NO BODY KNOWS…..
