Parliament House Should Be Shifted To Dubai

With the economy nosediving, the PM and his 52 member (!!!) delegation that traveled to Malaysia for a futile conference were convened by His Highness Asif Zardari in Dubai to discuss the economic woes, judicial crisis and other aspects of the dysfunctional and paralyzed government. From there on, some of them will move to London (oh, please, not again!). So, instead of calling the cabinet members and the MNAs to Dubai each time, and wasting millions in terms of money and airline FUEL, the Parliament House should be built in Dubai. This will have the following advantages:

1) It will free the people of the VIP movements’ problems within the country.

2) The leaders will almost always be in self-exile for national interest :D

3) Dubai is tax-free, so it may in fact save us some money!

4) The Sheikhs and the US can apply pressure on Pakistani politicians easily at the expense of a local phone call.

Any more??

Personally I feel, Asif Zardari does this each time to avoid facing the local media. In Dubai, the media is forced to obey the security personnel and policemen who say NO to them just once (and that’s sufficient), whereas in Pakistan the police holds no worth (sadly). So far, the coverage of meetings has been minimal, which further stresses this point. But there is nothing to cover for the media, we know the results already, don’t we?

    great idea.
if any lunatic would want to bomb these people, he too would need to fly out to Duabi and their police would deal with suicide bombers the way they should be dealt with ….

LOL! And the bomber will be requiring a visa too, so the Dubai govt. will be happy to earn from this source too :D

Fantastic idea. This absolutely needs a discussion on the electronic media. One of those lunatic news anchors needs to pick up this thread, invite the general public to conclude on this issue and pack the entire PPP and PMLN lot to Dubai. And take PIA with them!

    • July 10th, 2008 at 12:10 | #4

      Why PIA?

PIA is overstaffed, with people inducted by these 2 parties in the 90s. The problems of PIA have their root causes from these 2 parties

LoL! What will be left with then? PIA to rehne do :D

Custodians of the two houses of parliament are away too. Speaker National Assembly Fehmida Mirza is in Saudi Arabia to perform Umra and Senate Chairman Muhammadmian Soomro is in the United States.

Asif Ali Zardari had visited Turkey, Greece and London and is now in Dubai and is going back to London with no schedule for his return in sight.

In the absence of the top leadership of the two leading coalition partners, there is complete uncertainty regarding the future of the coalition. The second-tier leadership of both parties is clueless as to what is going to happen next.

So what do u we do with the news anchors. The self professed, lunatics, who know everything about security, nation building, economy, politics and Taliban

It is just crazy. Why couldn’t have the people selected someone who could at least live in the country they are in government of?

    • July 11th, 2008 at 02:24 | #13

Because these people were crying to get in the country when they were in exile. They said they were forced to live out and fooled the people to believe in their patriotism. Now, that vigor to return to the country is gone. They were loving it in exile and they are used to it.
