Turn Off Those Lights!!!

How many times have you been blinded with extra lights while driving? Or do you really care? I DO!

I feel like getting out of the car and cracking that ultra-luminous light into shards of glass at that very moment. I haven’t done that, yet. But I do take out my frustration and anger on that driver who’s car headlights are the only thing I’m able to see in all three of my car mirrors. What about those who are coming the wrong way with high beams staring right into your eyes? I do take them on as well.

What is the solution? Well, if the person is bugging you from back with his lights then ask him to dim those lights. One way (standard) is to switch your indicators left and right quickly indicating that you’ve been blinded. But, not many people are aware of this. Another way is to indicate with your hand. Some do respond to that. The final way, which I use most, is to decelerate your car to about 10 kmph and force the person either to dim those lights or overtake you and then when he (not she) goes ahead, return the favor by turning your lights to full intensity.

As for those who’re blinding you head-on, and politeness not working, turn your beam to full and stop your car!

Whenever embarking on such missions, do make a note of the person you’re dealing with and never take on those who look dangerous, unless you’re a good enough driver to manouver your way in heavy traffic and take flight.
