Zardari Flirts With Sarah Palin!!

NEW YORK (CNN) – Sarah Palin and the foreign leaders she has met with in New York have said very little to reporters over the last two days, but the press happened to be in the room on Wednesday for one eyebrow-raising exchange, as the new president of Pakistan lavished praise on Palin’s looks.

On entering a room filled with several Pakistani officials this afternoon, Palin was immediately greeted by Sherry Rehman, the country’s Information Minister.

“And how does one keep looking that good when one is that busy?,” Rehman asked, drawing friendly laughter from the room when she complimented Palin.

“Oh, thank you,” Palin said.

Pakistan’s recently-elected president, Asif Ali Zardari, entered the room seconds later. Palin rose to shake his hand, saying she was “honored” to meet him.

Zardari then called her “gorgeous” and said: “Now I know why the whole of America is crazy about you.”

“You are so nice,” Palin said, smiling. “Thank you.”

A handler from Zardari’s entourage then told the two politicians to keep shaking hands for the cameras.

“If he’s insisting, I might hug,” Zardari said. Palin smiled politely.
Now, what exactly are we supposed to read from this news item? The President is supposed to represent Pakistan on this trip, not himself. Zardari has reached the apex but he does need to learn the etiquettes and responsibilities that need to go along with the President of Pakistan.

Get Lost, Rehman Malik!

Rehman Malik is not willing to take the responsibility of the Marriott blasts. He’s adamant that the terrorists are responsible for the mess. Rightly so, but the terrorists are responsible for the success of the blasts in their frame of reference. Who’s responsible for the failure?

Malik is so desperate to get the media attention that he’s gone all out with his contradictory statements some of which I’ll mention in the later part of this plea.

First of all he claimed in post-Marriott-blast press conference that after his advent the terrorist activities has been reduced by 98% [any sources?] but what he failed to mention was that the enormity of the attacks during his tenure has only deepened and heightened.

He went on to say that his ministry had some sketchy information of potential terrorist activities on that day. I guess that is precisely why all the political and military heavyweights were gathered at one place so that if something goes wrong, everyone goes together. *that would’ve been better!*

Since he had the information can’t he respond to the simple question then how did a truck laden with modern explosives manage to roam around in Islamabad? A police official interviewed at a checkpost in Islamabad said that they hardly check the trucks citing the lack of necessary equipment as one reason.

Next, he claimed that the target was Parliament/President/PM and his ministry managed to save them. So, are those innocent people worthless and were deprived of security because the more important people were enjoying an exotic Iftar dinner? The dinner you couldn’t leave earlier to arrive at the place of blast.

Suddenly he came up with another idea! He said that Marriott was earlier supposed to be the venue for that iftar dinner of heavyweights which was later shifted to PM’s place. The Marriott admin quickly rebuffed this version, stating clearly that they had no such bookings.

So, what exactly is Rehman Malik trying to do? Is he trying to portray himself as the savior of the leadership of Pakistan? Is he trying to get something out of it to save his chair? That is more than likely.

But, it’s time to step aside Mr. Malik. Your ministry has been unable to control the terrorists attack despite your claim of a 98% reduction, which I must say, is plainly false. You were responsible for Benazir Bhutto’s security earlier, but she died. Now you’re responsible for Pakistan’s security, but we want Pakistan to live.

So just get lost, we hate you!

Oops!…I Did it Again by Shahid Masood!

All those who were glued to their TV screens on 9/20 [I prefer day first, though] and watched AAJ, Dawn or PTV waiting for the Presidential address after the blast may have seen a very casual speech of President being televised live before the original. It was indeed a rehearsal and ‘mistakenly’ broadcasted live by the state-run PTV, headed by Dr. Shahid Masood. The Doctor Sahib is in hot waters now following his second faux-pas and has been left out of the squad for the American tour pending an inquiry.

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday ordered an inquiry into the mess created by state-run Pakistan Television (PTV) during his address to the nation after the suicide attack outside Marriott Hotel in Islamabad that claimed 53 lives and injured over 250 people on Sept 20, Pakistan daily Dawn reported. “The PTV Chairman was clearly directed that the speech would be recorded and the President does not wish a live broadcast but the PTV chairman organised live telecast and the state media even provided clean feed to two other channels demonstrates the length to which Dr Masood can go to damage the government,” a source at president Zardari’s residence told the Pakistan daily. sources confirmed.

PTV Messed Up President’s Address; Inquiry Ordered

The information minister has ordered probe into another major faux pas by the state-run Pakistan Television when it ran live an unedited brief speech of President Asif Zardari late after midnight on the September 20 deadly blast outside Marriott Hotel while it was being recorded.

The president fumbled with words during the recording but realised soon that he was already on the air and being heard across the country. Originally it was planned to be a live telecast but aides decided to record it after due editing to send an effective message to the nation in that moment of grief. Two months ago, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani’s address was also messed up by the PTV when his live address, first communication with the nation, was interrupted owing to malfunctioning of a tele-prompter. The poor show was put up again by the state TV on Saturday night when the rehearsal of the president’s speech was telecast live at around 2:10am.

Contraction and Expansion of Heart

One of the most, or perhaps the most astonishing organ of the human body is the heart. It’s working has always been perplexing even for the great biologists and the scientists in this field. As of now, we know that the hurt is responsible for the pumping of blood. We also know how this function is achieved i.e. by contraction and expansion of heart. This cycle of contraction and expansion os commonly known as beat. The million dollar question that hasn’t been answered is that HOW does the heart beat?

The WHY’s of various human organs are nicely understood but the HOW’s are mostly unknown.

A couple of days I was listening to an Islamic lecture by Shaikh Hamza Yusuf. Now this is one of the beauties of Ramadan that a person is naturally inclined towards religious activities. Anyway, this lecture was titled “Putting the Heart into Worship.” He addressed this question of the human heart which caught my ears.

So, the how does the heart contract and expand?

If we look at the 99 names of Allah, two of His names are:

Al-Qabid

* The One who constricts the sustenance.
* The Contractor, The Restrainer, the Recipient.

Al-Basit

* The One who expands and widens.
* The Expander, He who expands

SubhanAllah!

The answer was always there, revealed to us and the humanity thousands of years ago.

Zardari's Lame Speech

President Zardari’s address was far from impressive. I don’t really feel like writing anything about politics these days, but Zardari deserves some bashing. I’ll pen my first impressions about his speech here.

1) Why was the speech in English? Who was he trying to address and please?

2) He said “Never in the history of this country has a President standing here given his powers back”, the question is, Will you, Mr. President??

3) His way of speaking sucks big time, especially the way he tries to enforce some words at the end of his sentences.

4) I’d have liked him to wear a sherwani, but I’ll let this one pass.

5) There was no direct mention of US attacks on our borders.

6) There was a very liberal use of the words “Shaheed Mohtarma”

Conclusion: The speech was inconclusive.
